Cologne Residence

That poolside cinema and the cafe are lovely, and the whole place has a beautiful atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the food, compliments to the chef, and the staff were so friendly. It’s an aparthotel with a 24-hour front desk, a chef on demand, daily housekeeping and strong security, which I liked compared with the usual self-check-in short lets. You choose a scent when checking in, and each apartment has its own design. One of the best places in Abuja, and I’d definitely come back. Just wish the internet were a bit stronger.

The apartment had a welcoming, home-away-from-home feel, which I appreciated. But I found the service and business conduct very disappointing. The manager came across as unprofessional and, at times, deceptive. Be sure to get written confirmation that a room is available before paying. My dealings with the management were bad enough that I’d advise caution when booking with Cologne Residence.

The food from the kitchen is finger-licking good, and the place feels like home. It’s neat and peaceful, with uninterrupted power around the clock. Cologne residence is definitely somewhere to stay.

I’d saved this place for a future trip to Naij after reading reviews from months earlier, but the service left me really disappointed. The facilities in my room weren’t working properly, and management blamed the voltage. For what they charge, I expected at least stable electricity throughout guests’ stays. I ended up checking out and finding somewhere with more reliable power.
