Crown Princess Hotel

It was so quiet around the hotel, which I really liked, and the place is affordable too. A tip: booking through hotel.ng gets you a room discount. The bathroom needs work, though. I had to fiddle with the water heater a couple of times before it finally responded.

The staff were wonderful, and the hotel itself was quiet and peaceful. Still, what happened on August 6, 2021, was frightening. Police and enforcement agencies were breaking down room doors and taking people’s belongings. My ground-floor room made it especially scary. I found the whole thing unsatisfactory and wouldn’t want anyone else to face it. I left and requested a refund, despite having paid for five nights. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to friends or family.

The hotel looks good from the front, but inside it feels worn out. The walls are damp and the paint is peeling. In the bathroom, the shower has come away, the heater doesn’t work, the bathtub edges have turned brown, and some floor tiles are loose. It really needs an upgrade.

The front of the hotel looks good, but the rooms were dirty and old. There were no wardrobes or anywhere to hang clothes, no trash bins, and water from the window units poured into the rooms. I stayed in room 105 for a couple of nights and woke up to a flooded room one morning. The management’s conduct was also troubling. Even with a confirmed booking, she demanded a higher rate when I checked in, taking advantage of people who just needed somewhere to rest after a long trip and couldn’t easily find another place. She also put out a group who had checked in, left their luggage, and gone to eat in the restaurant, then gave their room to a couple willing to pay a little more. It caused a real scene, and she left the staff to handle it when she took off.
