I’d already paid for two nights when I arrived late, and couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. The toilet water system wasn’t working, and there were no cold drinks or bottled water. I only needed somewhere to charge my devices, but they didn’t start the generator when they said they would at 6 pm. Even then there was no power, and after I went to speak with them, they finally switched it on around 7. The facilities were terrible.

This was the worst hotel. They said the generator would come on at 6 pm, but we were left waiting for power. In the morning there was still no light. They said they wouldn’t start the generator until evening because AEDC might restore power soon. Power did return, but the hotel still had none, and then I heard their light unit was finished. They don’t deserve even one star.

New City Hotel is undergoing major renovations, and services have improved a lot under the new management. You can go see for yourself.

The surroundings and staff were excellent. The AC and hot water heater weren’t working, though.
