Ritman Hotel

In a quiet part of Garki, Ritman Hotel made it easy for me to get around Abuja. My room was clean and comfortable, with a king-sized bed, air conditioning, and satellite TV. The staff were attentive and friendly whenever I needed something. Breakfast was included and had a mix of local and continental options. I also enjoyed the meals at the restaurant and the selection of drinks at the bar. The free Wi-Fi worked without any connection trouble. It was good value for money, and I'd consider staying again on my next trip to Abuja.

I couldn't inspect the rooms before choosing one, so I had no way to check them out first. The front desk looked dark and rough, without an intentional aesthetic to it. The receptionist said the rates could change at any time. Prices were ₦40,000-₦70,000, despite cheaper rates being advertised as available. The phone number they gave me for follow-up rang but never connected, and no one followed up.

I stayed for a couple of nights and found the place calm and homely, even though the next street is busy with restaurants, stores, banks, and clinics. The rooms are private, and both the rooms and food are fairly priced for the location. The meals taste great, though the kitchen can take a long time. Order breakfast at least 30 minutes ahead if you want it on time, and by the time it arrives the taste will blow you away. The staff are nice, calm, and diligent. They kept the power going even after an outage, which I'd rate 6/10. I enjoyed my stay and didn't run into any problems I couldn't manage. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, aren't the best looking, but they're cozy and well kept. I also liked the laundry service, with its neat, well-done packaging.

The tap and shower both failed, and even turning on the pump didn't get them working properly. I ended up bathing with boiling water from a bucket. Worst hotel I've stayed at in Nigeria. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
