Mg Way Hotel

I stayed in room 104 from June 18th to 19th. The first room wasn’t soundproof, but when I asked to move, the reception staff kindly showed me another one. That gave me a very good first impression, and I thanked them again. At the restaurant, I ordered spicy chicken but got chicken pepe soup instead. I like that dish too, so I accepted it despite the mix-up. Then I noticed they’d added food to our bill that we hadn’t eaten, inflating the food total by about 30%. A meal costing about 60,000 naira would have come to roughly 90,000 naira if I hadn’t checked. It felt intentional rather than like a simple mistake, and I found it offensive. Back in my room, there was no water for a shower. I asked reception to bring some, but 40 minutes later I was still waiting. I usually try to leave good reviews, but I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. There are better, cheaper options nearby. I eventually had to move again, this time to ground floor room no. 001. After that, a staff member came in and took a bottle of water, saying I’d drunk water in the previous room.

The building and interior look impressive, so you’d expect much better. Customer service was horrible. I was asleep when a porter let himself into my room with his own key, without knocking. Technicians also came to fix the water heater and wardrobe handles while I was still in the room. The food took two hours and had no taste. Who can’t cook jollof rice? Good for pictures, that’s about it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

There are different room grades to choose from, each at its own price. The hotel is neat and classy, with good service, and it’s easy to reach from both dbs and summit roads. It has a gym, a pool, and an outdoor bar. Even if you’re not staying there, the poolside is a nice place to hang out with friends. It has a calm, luxurious feel. You may want to book ahead, especially on weekends.

I went to the new extension, All Stars, and it was worth every penny I spent! The food was delicious and filling, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was perfect. If you’re in Asaba, this is a place to go. Can’t wait to visit at night with my lover.
