The power supply was unreliable, and the service made this a terrible stay. By the third day, neither my towel nor bedsheet had been changed. When I pointed out the bedsheet's bloodstain, which had been hidden under a pillow, they first claimed it was changed, then the woman said it wasn't dirty enough to change. That evening I was handed a wet towel, so I refused it and went out to buy one. I even had to go downstairs and plead for my room to be cleaned. The room itself was in poor shape, with bathroom walls and windows that looked as though they hadn't been washed in ages. I spent four days there, and only did so because someone else had made the reservation. It was the worst hotel stay I've had.

It's a big place with fairly low room prices compared with other hotels in Calabar, and the calm, quiet feel could suit someone wanting a peaceful time with their partner. The location is along Atimbo road, before the Nigerian Navy barracks accommodation, in an area that feels safe, peaceful, and busy. They also take corpers on primary assignments for 5k to 10k a month. The place is nice, though management is poor. Not too bad to visit.

If getting a cab easily on the main Atimbo road and heading to Akpabuyo matters, the location could work. But the traffic out front is heavy, with cars, trucks, and pedestrians, so it's noisy and not a peaceful place to unwind. It's right beside Atimbo road and near a gulley. I'd keep looking if you're after a quiet retreat.

The restaurant food is a real treat, and I liked the place a lot. It's quiet, with a nice view of the street.
