Bakis Continental Hotel

There was a musty smell in some rooms, possibly from the recent rain. Deodorising would have cleared it. Aside from that, the facility was clean and well maintained, with a charming, peaceful ambience. Power was available around the clock, and if it went off for any reason, it came back within seconds, or at most a few minutes.

The hotel served cocktails, and there was a restroom available. I liked the hall's round table setup, comfortable seats, attractive interior, beautiful stage, and gallery. The hall was well lit and air-conditioned, with a projector, live band, and good sound system. The kids sat in the gallery and could see the activities well. The hall was near the entrance gate, kind of separately gated but connected to the main hotel parking. Parking also extended outside the gate, where security watched the cars. I was there for a noble man's birthday party, invited by a friend and boss, and met a couple of friends and networked. I always admire the hotel as I pass it on my way somewhere, and hope to visit again.

Restaurants and supermarkets are less than a mile away, and the hotel feels safe. It's well located, very close to the airport, with plenty of parking. The appliances all worked in both standard rooms I used, and the employees were nice and went out of their way to help. The complimentary meals could be improved. The elevator worked only on my first night. For the other 2 nights, I had to take the stairs to the 3rd floor.

The Ops Manager tried to make things right after my horrible two days by giving me another room. Lizzy also made an effort to salvage the situation, so I decided not to post pictures or videos or write more about what happened. Some of the staff are wonderful and willing to go above and beyond to make your stay okay, but you can't give what you don't have. I won't forget those two days in a hurry. If you must stay here, call the manager and explain what you expect, or you may have a stay you won't forget either.
