One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. On my first visit, the water was really dirty, and so were the rooms. The second time, there was no light. Why pay for a hotel and then have to stay without electricity? My room didn’t even have a key. They used a master key to open it whenever I went out, from morning until evening. My devices ran out of power, and I couldn’t have my meeting.

I went in to deliver a message to someone and noticed that the room had air conditioning. The waiters were incredibly hospitable. One of them even walked me to the room with a smile.

The toilets aren’t kept clean, and they respond extremely poorly when customers complain.

My first stay at BeniGold was awesome. The standard room was superb, the staff were friendly, and there was power 24 hours a day. The only nuisance was the noise from trailers passing here and there. The next time was a different story. The hotel had trouble with the (Mikano) generator, and PHCN was acting like PHCN. They responded quickly and brought in another (Mikano) generator as soon as possible, but installing it took forever. And please, if you don’t have money, don’t try ordering the food. Indomie with egg is #1000, Jollof rice with chicken is #2000, and Semo with efo or edikaiko is #2500.

Beni Gold Apapa feels like home, but your money still talks. It’s affordable luxury, with hard-working staff.
