Crown Cottage Hotel

The front desk staff were very nice, and the area felt peaceful and secure. Internet was better than at many other hotels, at least on average. But on the only day I stayed, the generator went off at 7 a.m. They said they were refuelling. When I complained two hours later, I was told they'd gone to buy fuel and had just finished refuelling, and that it would be switched on soon. Four hours later, I was told the generator was faulty and needed repairs. There was a backup generator, but they didn't switch it on. I checked out and won't return.

The pool, bar, rooms, interior, and drive-in all felt quiet and calming, even after a rough day. It was a bit stuffy when I arrived, so I'd book ahead and tell them your arrival time to have the AC turned on. I asked for an air freshener and got one. All in all, a calm little cottage.

The clear, lovely pool was what stood out most to me. The rooms were clean, and the price was decent too. I only visited a friend here, I didn't stay overnight, but I'd definitely come back for a night or two.

The standard room was presentable, though there were mosquitoes and it hadn't been treated with insecticide before I checked in. The bathroom was so-so but manageable, and otherwise the place was okay. The room I'd originally booked wasn't available, but I understood their online booking policy. We were referred by one of their partner hotels.
