De Meros Hotel and Suites

I stayed here for about 5-6 nights on a Lagos trip in late January 2024. For the price, it was decent: most things worked, my room was clean, I felt safe, and the staff were pleasant. Kudos to everyone. I did notice a few bathroom details that could be improved. Replacing the worn mops and the anti-slip foot mats in the shower would help reduce the chance of slipping. I accidentally paid too much, my mistake, and raised it within minutes. They said a refund needed management approval and might take weeks or months. There was a “No Refund Policy” sign at Reception, but I didn’t expect that to apply to a quick mistake like this. I used the extra amount as credit to extend my stay, so it didn’t cause a real inconvenience.

They may say a standard room isn’t available even when it is, then try to sell you the more expensive room. Watch out for a receptionist named Oyin.

The modern look and lighting are great, and the service is appealing. Breakfast is complimentary. It can be a little troublesome to get there, but it’s a good find. The parking is wheelchair friendly, though there isn’t much room if you’re holding a conference or a big event with more than 20 cars.

We’ve been good clients of this well situated property on the mainland. Its location is strategic, with easy access to a major highway for people heading outside Lagos state to several other states in Nigeria. It also makes it easy to get from the mainland to the Island. The pool is nice and the food is okay. The service is good, but the hotel could do better. The rooms need improvement to maintain their standard, and the VIP Lounge in the basement should be upgraded so customers can enjoy it more. I’d give the property 7/10, but I think it can do better with the attention it needs.
