De Santiago Milan Hotel and Suites

The rooms are nice, and the location is handy for the expressway. But there was loud music constantly, which made the noise a real problem. The lift was out of order during my stay, so I had to take the stairs every time I went up or down. With the noise and all that climbing, it wasn't relaxing.

I was meant to stay five days, but after seeing the room and dealing with reception, I'm leaving as soon as morning comes. They wouldn't show me a room until I paid, and after paying I found it was small, with no hangers. The lobby smelled nasty and had no AC. The TV was tiny, with only one channel working properly. The two light skin ladies at reception were rude, arrogant and had no manners. When I called to ask for hangers, one hung up on me. I heard another guest at reception complaining bitterly about how disrespectful they were, too. I wonder how anyone hires people who lack home training. The hotel is overpriced. Thank God I paid for just one day. Villa park and other nearby hotels give better service, but they were fully booked.

The rooms are spacious, affordable and have functional amenities, and the place is easy to get to. Staff were courteous, though a couple seemed inexperienced during my visit. The rooftop bar is nice, but the way you access it is concerning.

The cleaning staff were friendly, and the rooms have good AC and working showers. Still, there's a musty smell that comes back if you leave the room for too long. They give you just one key and require you to return it whenever you leave the hotel, which may be normal around here. Ordering food is a hassle because there's no room service menu, so you have to call and have them list the items. The rooftop bar has a full menu, but they will probably tell you most things aren't available. Drinks bought in the restaurant also can't be taken to other parts of the hotel, which feels silly. Their swimwear rules were really annoying. I had on a proper swimsuit made of waterproof fabric, with mesh inside, but a staff member insisted I rent one of theirs. Maybe he thought the design made it look like regular shorts. I offered to let him touch the fabric, but he wouldn't budge. There are other rules that don't make sense. Stairs near our room would let us leave, but there's a guy at the bottom who asks where you're going. Say pool or gym and he'll let you through. Say outside and he tells you to go back upstairs and use a different set of stairs and another door. You could just leave after going to the pool or gym anyway. They also include breakfast for only one person per room. The cost seems negligible, so I don't understand why guests have to go through the annoying routine of paying for one breakfast every morning.
