Glandov Suites Hotel

The quiet neighborhood was the one good thing about this hotel. I was disappointed with the service and would tell anyone who values their peace of mind to avoid the place. They said breakfast and Wi-Fi were complimentary, but when I asked about breakfast, I was told there wasn't any. Wi-Fi was only available when the sales manager was around, which seemed to be never. The room had a loose toilet that moved when I sat on it, mould on the wall, and a bathroom window that wouldn't close and had no net, so mosquitoes came in freely. I told the receptionist, who said she'd informed the sales manager, but nothing was done. I also got really bad diarrhea after eating Afang soup from the hotel kitchen.

I don't usually review hotels, but the staff here stood out for their professionalism, courtesy, and responsiveness. They treated me like a baby and did everything they could to make my stay comfortable, relaxing, and memorable. I had no complaints. The rooms are nicely furnished and well lit, with different shades of colour to choose from to suit your mood. Their attitude and attentiveness are rare in hotels these days. By the grace of God, I WILL BE BACK.

I only stayed one night, but just about everything went wrong. When I asked reception how to arrange a taxi for the next morning, the receptionist didn't know. From there it got worse. My room was a nightmare: the sheet had holes and the mattress was torn. The bathroom was covered in limescale, the toilet seat was left beside the toilet, and the walls were mouldy. There was also a shaggy rug collecting germs from guests. The list goes on. I told the manager about the room, and they changed the bedding, but that was too little, too late. It was already late, so I had no time to find another hotel and had to stay in this apology for a hotel. I slept on top of the bed in my clothes, and the bathroom was in such a state I couldn't use it to bathe in the morning. When I left for the airport, the receptionist was asleep on the floor in the reception area, though they got up to take my room card. At the hotel gates, the security guard was fast asleep too. That sums up this so-called hotel: a clueless operation with people sleeping on the job.

I had a great experience, though the rooms need some renovation, like Blackwood.
