The room had no table to eat at and there wasn't any hot water. There was a rat in room 208, and my kids couldn't sleep. Taxis weren't allowed to pick us up very early or drop us off late. This was the worst hotel I booked on booking.com, much worse than I expected.

We left at 7am, first thing in the morning, and didn't even wait for breakfast. I've never regretted spending a night somewhere so much. The photos are attached, so see for yourself, and please don't waste your money as I did. I paid 22k for a deluxe room, and it was a complete waste. The whole experience was a nightmare: terrible location, abysmal service, and a room that was disgusting. The hotel is in a swampy, unsafe area, right in front of a dirty, foul smelling canal. The street is rough and the road is bad. After 11pm the generator went off, and so did the AC. The inverter only powered some lights and sockets. The room was hot with no air coming in or out. We couldn't open the window or curtain because of the canal smell, and the net was torn. The intercom didn't work, so we walked down four flights of stairs to reception to ask for a fan. After nearly an hour, they brought us a broken, rickety one. The inverter went off after 1am, and the miserable night continued. We couldn't sleep, and big fat mosquitoes feasted on us. I wouldn't be surprised if I get sick. The room itself was in awful shape, with peeling wallpaper and water leaking in from outside, along with crawling insects. We asked for a mop or towel to dry it up and never got one. The hallways and staircase were dark because the bulbs had been removed. The receptionist was very rude. They kept telling us until morning that they were fixing the generator, but nothing was done.

I had come into the country and needed a hotel near a particular spot because I had a flight to catch the next morning to Enugu. This was the closest option I could find. The rooms were poor, and seeing rats running around was embarrassing. There was also a white garment church right next to the hotel, wall to wall, and the noise made it impossible to sleep. After checking out, I realized later that day, when I was already in Enugu, that I'd left a small phone with one of my MTN lines in the room. I called the hotel, but nobody answered. By the next day, someone had used USSD to start transactions on my Access bank account. At first I thought the problem with the app was just the usual network issue, but it kept saying my PIN had been disabled. I understood money was leaving the account when the debit emails started arriving. I called my bank and MTN to block the account and line, but 50k was already gone. The bank later said they had tried to get into my app but couldn't, then resorted to USSD. I didn't lose more because you can't transfer much by USSD. I raised it with the hotel. The man who spoke to me was polite, but asked for proof of the alert. To avoid exposing myself further, I just told him the name of the person who received the money. In a safe hotel, forgotten belongings would be kept for you and the hotel would contact you. This is a den of criminals, so avoid it like the plague, especially if you don't know Lagos well.

I stayed just one night and would have stayed longer if I hadn't already booked somewhere else. The hotel was clean, spacious, and in a very good location, with a reasonable price. I'd stay there again if I'm in Nigeria.

Poorly managed and terrible, apart from the breakfast. That place is shit.
