Latest D Hotel

I booked the cheapest room for a short stay. It was average at best, but the service was good, and the complementary breakfast was commendable. There’s a bar on site and parking, and the location is easy to reach from both Lagos and Ogun states since the access roads are tarred. Good customer care made the stay pretty enjoyable.

They’ve grown from a bar where people came for drinks and plates of pepper soup into a hotel and suites along Jankara road in Ijaiye bustop. They also put on shows every Friday evening that go on until dawn. It’s a lovely place. I’m just not sure whether police officers, who are often moving around to raid innocent party lovers, harass them regularly.

I booked through hotels.ng, but when I arrived the executive room didn’t feel executive at all. I raised it at reception, and the manager said there’d been a mix-up and gave me the chance to upgrade to a roomier, better-ventilated room. The AC didn’t work. The bathroom was fairly clean, the staff were courteous, and the place was easy to find. The food was nice and came on time.

Management gave poor service. They insisted I pay 1000 Naira for a cup donated to them by Nigeria Brewry, even though we’d spent a lot there. We had about seven rooms for two days and accidentally broke one cup because it was imperfect when we were about to drink. They still made me pay. I wouldn't recommend staying there.
