Mulligan Hotel

Being in central Sabo Yaba, close to Ozone Cinemas, makes this three-star hotel easy to reach. The rooms were comfortable and the service was good, but there was barely room to move with all the furniture. A table blocked the wardrobe, a chair sat right in front of the full-length mirror, and most bedside and table lamps didn’t work, so they were just decoration.

The hotel’s condition made the ₦30,000 per night I think it should charge seem more appropriate, especially with drinks being so expensive. During my stay, the room smelled bad and looked dated. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the so-called Executive Chef looked unkempt. Cutlery and serving trays are old and need replacing. I was also shocked that some guests were openly smoking weed/Colorado on the premises, which feels like a serious safety and reputation concern. The laundry staff pressed phones with their legs on the table and played loud music during work hours. The manager came across as lacking business ethics and professionalism. Management seems too focused on profit instead of basic hospitality standards. I’d strongly suggest hiring qualified professionals and letting them do their jobs.

The central Yaba location was the best part of our four-night stay. The room setup was disappointing: the toilet and shower shared one open, flat floor, and the window wouldn’t shut properly, so staff stuffed paper into the gap to keep mosquitoes out. For our family of four, there was just one towel in the room and one complimentary bottle of water on arrival. Breakfast covered only one person per room, with each extra guest, including children, charged ₦10,000. Pool use also cost ₦3,000 per person. With those room conditions and extra charges, the stay was disappointing.

Great service and a perfect location. I enjoyed staying here and recommend it.
