Platinum Inn Gee Hotel

The place was generally a mess, and no manager came to deal with our concerns. We could only speak to an “chairman” we never saw, who made promises that weren’t kept. We paid upfront for 6 nights but still couldn’t count on electricity. They rationed power, and the generator could go off while you were asleep, leaving you sweating. Hot water was unreliable too, so we often had to shower with cold water. The staff were rude, uncouth, and lousy. Our first night was a nightmare, with ants crawling all over the room, and we had to buy insecticide to fumigate it. The room hadn’t been swept after the last guest either. There was an empty pack of Rohypnol on the floor. There was no CNN, and someone had to search and reboot the cable constantly to find it. Don’t ever book this hotel. They don’t understand hospitality.

The best part of my stay was having Netflix. The food was good, but there was usually no electricity, so I had to use the fan. I had a balcony, though the door was faulty. I had to call reception late at night to get a plumber because the toilet wouldn’t flush.

The rooms are small, and the reception area is tiny, with no proper lounge. The smart TV is the one upside. It’s not much of a place for travelers, but it’ll do if you just need to sleep, get up, and leave.

The room was wonderfully cold, which I appreciated with the heat wave being so tough. It’s a comfortable space for a quick meeting, and the atmosphere is relaxing.
