The Nook Hotel

I only saw a little of the hotel interior, and it looked nice. The parking area, compound, bar, and restaurant were all nice too. Parking and the entrances to the hotel and restaurant are wheelchair accessible, but the bar is upstairs and has no wheelchair access. I had a bad experience trying to order food. The waiters were all upstairs ushering people at the bar, and I had to keep asking the kitchen staff to call them. In the end, I left without buying anything.

This boutique hotel is in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. It works well for group bookings, with reasonable prices, fairly spacious rooms, friendly enough staff, good food, and a pleasant little poolside area. The location is quite good too. Service moves at a snail’s pace. Food can take forever, and on my first evening I reported that the hot water system wasn’t working. I waited over an hour before anyone came to deal with it, while I was waiting to take a bath. Some bathrooms also have a strange shape, as if they were an afterthought.

The meals are always the highlight for me, the food tastes so good. I like relaxing by the swimming pool, which is one of the cleanest I’ve seen. The lounge and restaurant are nice places to unwind too, and the rooms are cozy. The Nook really feels like a home away from home.

The rooms are cozy and decent, and we keep coming back to The Nook. Sometimes it’s for drinks at the bar, sometimes a restaurant meal, or just time by the pool. It’s a reliable stop for us whenever we’re nearby.
