The DJ was fantastic, and the scenery was great for relaxing. But the whole experience felt exploitative: seats cost upwards of N20,000, while coconut water was over N2,000. Horse riders are a pest, and so is everyone else trying to sell you something. Better oversight of the beaches is needed to improve tourism.

I took my three kids, and we had fun. On the road, just after Coastal Road, we were charged 1k for a ticket while driving to the beach. At the Atican Beach entrance, they charged 2k per adult, but looked at the kids and said I could pay 1k for them, so that was 3k altogether. This was peak season, on January 4, 2026, just after New Year. Horse riding was 2k, while just getting on for a photo cost 1k. Fanta and Coke were 1k each, and chairs or a hut started at 30k. I brought home-cooked food and drinks from home, and carried the kids' seat down onto the beach sand. We ate there too. You can get to Paradise Beach and other beaches from here. Happy New Year, guys.

I had a memorable time at ATICAN Beach Resort. If you want a holiday resort in Lagos, Nigeria, I’d recommend it.

Rita, the manager, is lovely, and she runs the place with kindness while keeping it in great shape. The staff are friendly and helpful too. I’m travelling by motorcycle, and they helped me out in so many ways.
