Hotel Casa Blanca

For $39 a night, this place is super clean. They replace your towels every day, and the service is great. Everyone's really nice and respectful. It's a great deal, and the nights are super cheap too. I'd recommend it to anybody.

The price was great, and the staff were great too. It's an old-style hotel with a rustic feel. The room and furniture could be better, but the location is fantastic. I walked to the city center in about 15 minutes.

The cold shower wasn't too much of an issue in Leon's heat. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the bed is reasonably comfortable. As a budget double room when you're not planning to spend much time there, it's fine. We didn't feel welcome, though, so I can't recommend staying here. We arrived around 9pm after a 15-hour trip from Honduras. We offered to go to an ATM to get money for payment, but they said it wasn't safe. We said we'd go the next day, but they insisted we pay then, which didn't fit with what they'd just said. Luckily, we had a little cash, so they eventually let us pay for one night. We got money first thing in the morning and came back to pay. Then the owner argued with us over 4 cents. We paid, of course, but it felt petty, and we'd never had that happen at any other hostel. They said we could cook in the kitchen, but family members were using it all the time. It's their home, which is fine, but they shouldn't offer the kitchen if it's not really available. Laundry was also very overpriced, at $10 for one load.

The rooms are clean, and parking feels pretty safe. Rates are great. There's A/C, but no hot water. Breakfast is available if you ask.
