La Bicicleta Hostal - Hostel

We were grateful they arranged a shuttle even though it was very late, and let us check in late too. Communication by email was quick and clear. The hostel is clean and seems well organized, with friendly, helpful staff and someone around to assist nearly 24/7. Its back garden is a relaxing spot, and the free breakfast is generous and nourishing: toast, eggs, rice and beans, fruit, and coffee. It's in a safe residential neighborhood near grocery stores, ATMs, and city buses. We stayed just two nights, but it was a perfect place to recover from jet lag.

Having hot water was the biggest surprise, and honestly reason enough for me to stay here. It's a lovely place with staff who know their stuff and are helpful. Breakfast is hearty, and plenty of restaurants are just a short walk away. I was in a co-ed dorm, and without a curtain there was no privacy at all. Each bed could also use a reading light. Aside from those two issues, it's a wonderful hostel.

The person at the front desk went out of her way to help me figure out a bus back to Costa Rica. I also left some important documents behind, and the staff were helpful in getting them back to me. That service was the standout for me, and I'd absolutely return if I need a place in Managua again. The hostel is a bit away from Managua's main areas, but the comfort and upkeep more than made up for that. Facilities were clean, modern, and well maintained. My bright, new bedroom had plenty of fans, a comfortable bunk, drawers for bags, outlets by the bed, and an ensuite bathroom with warm water and everything I needed. Breakfast was included and good, filtered water was available, and the backyard was nicely arranged.

The room was clean, the breakfast fresh and tasty, and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were helpful too. Nice hostel.
