Nicaragua Guest House

We booked on Hostelworld and emailed around midday, about 12:00-13:00, to say we’d be arriving late. When we got there that evening, they had cancelled our booking without giving a reason.

A clean, inexpensive place run by a really nice family. Breakfast is included in the morning, and the neighborhood is peaceful. Highly recommend it.

The location is especially convenient, with Multicentro Las Américas, its food court, and government offices like Consejo Supremo Electoral, INSS, and Emigration just two blocks away. Nicaragua Guest House feels close to everything. My room was comfortable, with its own restroom, and the place is family oriented, very clean, and has service second to none. A polite, friendly family of two is always ready to help. Breakfast, laundry, and Wi-Fi are included too.

The replies I got were extremely rude, in my opinion, and I felt treated very badly. I booked through Booking.com and used the request box to ask about checking into the room first, seeing the facilities even though I wasn’t staying overnight, combining payment for a possible second room on the property, and where to park my motorbike. I didn’t get any notice, then twice I was told to cancel or they would cancel the reservation. After spending more time searching for another place, I asked them to cancel because there was no check-in and I wanted to avoid penalties. They refused. They also twice claimed my cards weren’t valid, which wasn’t true. I’ve travelled in dozens of countries and never been treated like this. They should be ashamed and find another job. In response to their reply: Either they read my messages too quickly, are acting in bad faith, or can’t read. I never asked to pay for one room and stay for two. I said a friend might visit to say hello, and asked whether he could come into the room or sit with me in the building’s common area for a chat. I also asked if any guests would be staying overnight, and whether I could pay the extra amount on site, since I’d made the actual one-person booking online to make sure the room was available. Their claim that I’m on imaginary blacklists is made up and, at best, ridiculous. If they don’t retract that DEFAMATORY AND FALSE statement immediately, I’ll report them to the local government authorities, who I’m sure care more about tourism than they do. I’ve already reported their behavior to Booking.com and am waiting for this review to be updated so I can attach it to my customer service report.
