The location is fairly central and the Wi-Fi works well, which are the only things I liked. The dorm beds are basically shelves stacked three high, each with a thin mat. There’s no ventilation or hot water, and the power goes out. There are plenty more problems I could mention. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

The staff were kind, and I slept well for a cheap stay. Still, the facilities are deteriorating. The water and power were out from 6-8am on June 15. That may have been beyond their control, but I’ve read it’s a common ongoing problem here. There’s also construction next door, quite loud from 4-6pm, so muy bien if you can be somewhere else then.

I left almost as soon as I arrived. The place was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week, and the $11.50 charge felt far too high for this country. A small room, normally suited to one bedroom, had two triple bunk beds crammed into it, with no AC. The bathroom was airplane-small. They didn’t ask guests for ID, so I wondered if they pay taxes, since that never happened during my three months in Latin America. The other guests seemed odd, including refugees, and I got the impression they were charged less than international visitors. Worst hostel I’ve stayed in.

DON’T STAY HERE! The room was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, even though I was the only person in it. You can’t lock the bathroom or toilet from inside, and the beds are really small. Not worth $10, and there weren’t any other backpackers around.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. I expected it might be okay for one stopover night, but the place was horrible, awful, and filthy. For $11 I got basically nothing, while that same amount buys a beautiful, clean budget hostel in Granada or Ometepe. Mice ran over my feet while I was on the toilet, and there were mice getting into my backpack in the dorm, plus cockroaches everywhere. The sink and floor were dirty, the bathroom door couldn’t be closed without blocking the dorm entrance, and I worried I’d end up with bedbugs, ants, mice, or cockroaches in my luggage. It smelled bad, and the dorm beds were shorter and smaller than a normal mattress. At 175 cm, I didn’t fit. The staff were okay and it wasn’t their fault, but one guy came into the dorm without knocking, which was weird.
