Hostal La Casona

We meant to stay just one night before the boat back to the mainland, but wound up adding two more. It’s a quiet, local kind of place, with pigs, chickens, and dogs wandering around while people sit out front chatting or stopping by the shop. The family puts a lot of effort into making guests comfortable, and Michael can rent you a scooter or give you a ride where you need to go. The food tastes great, though portions are modest, and it costs less than at other places in San José. The wifi stayed fast even with several people streaming. It had only been open nine months when we visited, and would make an easy island base. We were the only guests, which suited us just fine. Go support this hardworking family, you won’t be disappointed. 😉
