I usually don't write negative reviews, but this was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. A few hotel-owning friends encouraged me to share what happened. I've been a regular guest here, visiting at least once a month, and had never had trouble before my visit in December 2023. While I was at the beach, hotel staff let someone I didn't know into my room. They took my wallet, which had C$4000 in cash and all my cards. When I told the receptionist, she showed no concern and did nothing. We got in touch with the owner, who was just as unconcerned. A few hours later, my stolen credit cards were used for purchases totaling C$18000. I reported that to reception, and was told, "it's not my problem, wait until tomorrow." We reached the owner again the next day. He didn't apologize and only offered us dinner. Seeing how cynical and unprofessional he was, I said I'd cancel the rooms by bank transfer since my cards had been stolen from my room. He replied, "obviously I'm not going to charge you." That was the last I heard from the hotel. They didn't help with the police procedures or send anyone to apologize, and nobody was courteous. The morning receptionist didn't say anything either. I ended up losing C$22000, and the hotel showed no interest. Maybe they would have cared more if I were a foreigner, but as a local, they didn't seem to consider it important.
