Hotel de Jonge Heertjes

The hotel’s only real advantage is being near the airport, which was why I chose it before an early flight. I stayed two nights and needed sleep before a long travel day, but the place hosted a loud party until 2 AM, despite the listing saying the restaurant closed at 10 PM. We hadn’t been warned. The music echoed everywhere and made sleep impossible. There was zero respect for guests. I was traveling with my young puppy, who was distressed by the music and couldn’t sleep. She barked through the night, which made an already stressful situation worse. At first the hotel looked well maintained, and the staff seemed friendly, but that impression didn’t last. The hairdryer in my room was broken, and there was no phone, although the listing said there would be one. When I asked for the manager, I was told he was at the party enjoying himself. At 9 PM, the only “solution” offered was a last-minute suggestion to switch hotels and a €40 refund, less than half of what I’d paid. The food was disappointing too. The restaurant was mediocre at best, and the €12.50 breakfast was basic and bland, with not a single vegetable. Think twice before booking. If there’s a party, neither you nor your pet will get any sleep. Avoid this place at all costs.

The town is pretty and has everything you need, and it’s very close to the airport. My wife and I just finished a short stay with our two small dogs, and I was super impressed. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were more than helpful, and the food, drinks, and service were top notch. Highly recommend!

We were overbooked, so we couldn’t stay and review the rooms. We did have a meal here, though, and the food was very good. We all ordered burgers and they were perfect. The staff were very friendly and apologetic. Things like this happen, and there’s nothing anyone can do, so why stress when we’re on holiday? Thank you 😊

The food here was wonderful, and the staff were excellent. This is a restaurant with rooms and a great place to stay. I had the pork schnitzel with salad and fries. The salad came with an apple and honey dressing, and the well-cooked fries were tucked under the pork. There was a lovely mix of vegetables too, including red, green, and yellow peppers, celery, and onion. For dessert I had cheesecake with lemon ice cream, cream, and strawberries.
