It’s an old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, with birds as the only sound. The bedrooms are airy and bright, and the shared kitchen and sitting room are spacious. Everything is comfortable and well cared for, with modern facilities alongside an old-fashioned feel.

We celebrated my birthday last weekend as guests of the Boerkoel family, and the Fryhof was the best kept accommodation we’ve ever had on one of our family weekends. Everything was looked after so carefully, from the beautiful, spotless rooms with lovely views and wonderfully soft bed linens to the fully equipped kitchen. For our family of cooks, having two dishwashers and a fantastic stove was a real treat. There were 10 adults, and the children had plenty to do as well. Leen stoked the hot tub outside, so the brave ones could enjoy the fresh air and starry sky from it. We had such warm, enjoyable contact with the family. We have another celebration in the fall, and we’re definitely returning to the Fryhof.

Gerda suggested Lester, a private chef, and he came to cook for us one evening. Highly recommended. We had a fantastic weekend with our children and grandchildren, with beautiful, spacious rooms and a lovely living room.

They’ve expanded, so construction is still going on, but it’s so beautiful there. The swimming pool is great, and the kids love it. Highly recommended!!!
