“Maurice and his wife Josta are wonderful hosts, and the food is great. The place sits in the forest, right in the centre of The Netherlands. We'll definitely be back!”

The fantastic swimming pool was the cherry on top, especially on hot days. Bring your swimsuit, though we hadn't thought to pack ours and were able to borrow one. Josta is a wonderful hostess and knows horses inside out. We had a lovely holiday here with our own horses, and both riders and horses were well looked after. Breakfast was delicious, and the horses had fragrant hay. Den Treek-Henschoten is just through the gate, with broad bridle paths and lovely scenery. See you next time, Josta and Maurice!

We especially liked the cottage, with its large, beautiful bathroom and the view of the horses from inside. We had a wonderful weekend in early August. The heatwave and dry weather weren't ideal, but the pool was fantastic, and the owner helped work out ways to keep the horses as comfortable as possible.

The guest accommodation was well kept, with good beds and a recently renovated bathroom. The fridge was stocked, and if anything was running low, a note on the stable noticeboard was enough to have it replenished that same day. You can also arrange to use the private garden pool, which is a nice extra. The horses have everything they need here: roomy stabling, turnout in the pasture, a 20x60 arena, a horse walker and a lunging pen. From the property, open the gate and you're straight into the woods, with a very well maintained network of riding trails. A token is required to ride in Den Treek - Henschoten, and you can get one on site. Josta and Maurice run a particularly welcoming little B&B. It's a small paradise for people who want to get out and about with their horses, but well worth a visit without horses too.

The living area was a plus, though the lights seemed haunted. The bedroom barely had room for two beds, and for the price, I expected more luxury and hospitality. Breakfast and lunch needed more care than a few rolls from the local supermarket, and finding moldy jam in the fridge was unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend it at this price.
