Hostelle - Caters to Women

BEDBUGS! I stayed for one night after a concert, and two days later my whole body was itching. The beds didn't seem very clean, and the sheets are polyester. Apart from that, it's a very sweet hostel with a good atmosphere, a tea and coffee station, and nice staff.

There's a kitchen for cooking, and shops and markets are nearby. Everything is shared, and the cleaners are doing their best, though it's hard to know how clean it can really be. The hostel is far from the city center and might not feel safe if you're coming back late. Keep in mind that laundry is expensive.

The location isn't the hostel's strong point. Getting to the city center can take a little over 40 minutes with some walking and waiting for the metro, so you need to plan around that when you book. For me, that wasn't an issue. I stayed several days and felt it was good value for money. The staff were pleasant and easy to talk to about basic things like getting laundry done. They also organize themed evenings, which sounded interesting, though I didn't have time to join. The rooms and bathrooms were generally very clean. I'd suggest emptying the bathroom bins more often and enforcing the no-smoking rule, especially the no-vaping part, more firmly.

A few years ago, I regularly stayed at Hostelle and was always happy with the hospitality and kindness. Today, as a local almost at my due date, I walked by and asked if I could use the toilet. I understand not letting just anyone come in, but refusing a pregnant woman is next level!
