A nice, relaxing place.

We had Gruun 28, a lovely cottage in a peaceful, magnificent setting for anyone who enjoys nature. While autumn storms were blowing across the country, two adults and two teenagers could relax inside with every convenience. The house was clean, though the mattresses were softer than we like, which is just personal preference. I understand the cottages are privately owned, so they may differ a lot. There doesn’t seem to be much for young children to do, and it felt more like a golf resort. We don’t golf, by the way. You’ll need to make your own entertainment or find things to do. We also went to Restaurant de Hildenberg as a group. We’d hoped to order food for delivery or pickup, which the website says is possible, but apparently that isn’t an option. You have to eat there. The food was great, though.

The park and surrounding area are beautiful, and it looks especially suited to golf enthusiasts. Reception staff were very friendly and helped us sort out our internet issue, but the connection in the cottage kept dropping. The cottage also wasn’t very clean when we arrived: there were cobwebs everywhere, and the fridge and stovetop were dirty.

The park itself is beautiful, especially with the golf course alongside it. Sadly, we got a dirty cottage that badly needs its interior updated. We were in cottage 9, on the right when you enter. The photos say it all. Avoid it. Roompot clearly doesn’t have proper quality checks, or the cottage wouldn’t have been this dirty. An organization can’t hide behind a rule saying the cottages may differ. That should be reflected in the price. Roompot, saying after the fact that we should have reported it doesn’t solve anything. I didn’t come on a long weekend holiday to do that. Roompot needs to keep this under control. It’s not that hard. See the photos of the mold and all the dust. Ridiculous. I recommend going somewhere else.
