There’s a lot to discover here, and we didn’t leave ourselves enough time on this visit. I hope to return soon, learn more about the building’s history, and perhaps hear a few anecdotes. I’m interested in tea’s medicinal uses, so I’d hoped for a little more focus on tea, perhaps a tea garden or homemade herbal blends using herbs from the garden. That would complete the picture for me. I’m looking forward to another visit. This is a magical, atmospheric place with a very distinctive character. The old hotel’s authenticity has been carefully preserved, while it has been given a new feel. The beds were good and we slept wonderfully. It has a quirky, artistic interior, full of color, unusual objects, and handcrafted details chosen by the hostess. Everywhere you look, you can see her touch. The place feels like a source of power, and the high tea theme suits it. There aren’t any rooms with baths yet, but they’re going to start work on that this year. The owner makes jewelry too, and it looks very professional. I’d keep the hotel’s name after the renovation. It’s lovely and suits the location, and I think it’s been called that for a long time, which is part of its history. I hope the authentic feel survives the renovation. Places like this, which enchant you, are getting rarer, and that matters. It made me think of an Annie M.G. Smidt film.

We used this as a base for our first walks on the Noaberpad, and there are good places to eat nearby. Our room was nice, the beds were good, and the varied breakfast was generous, more than enough. The owners were friendly, and it was a great place to stay.
