Fletcher Hotel - Restaurant Erica

Robert at the front desk was very professional and always around to help or chat. We also met a wonderful Spanish waiter in the restaurant, though we didn’t get his name. He was so charismatic and charming. The view from our room was beautiful, especially with the snow, and the location is amazing. The room was nice, though the double bed was two singles pushed together, which made sleeping with a toddler a bit awkward. We managed. The room and hotel areas felt a little cold, and breakfast was okay. The food selection seemed limited, as I’ve found at Fletcher. I can’t say the same about the blond woman at reception. When my little son got sick, I asked for a bit of guidance finding an open pharmacy or store, but she didn’t help.

The room was clean and cozy, and with the Christmas feel around the hotel at the end of November, the atmosphere was already magical. I arrived at Hotel Erica (Fletcher Hotels) just ten minutes ago, and this feels like the perfect start to a relaxing trip. Isa at reception made a great first impression. She welcomed me with a genuine big smile, made me feel valued, and got me checked in smoothly. She gave me all the information I needed and was helpful and upbeat throughout. Her professionalism really set the right tone for a holiday here. I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel and look forward to the rest of my stay.

The hotel’s setting and location are wonderful, and we enjoyed staying overnight as part of our 'Operation Market Garden' trip. Booking through Booking.com turned into a frustrating problem, something we’d never experienced with another hotel. The reservation was cancelled without explanation, then rebooked for the wrong date. The hotel couldn’t resolve it, and we never got our money back. After booking again for the right date and arriving, we found the reception and restaurant staff a bit disorganized.

The room was a pleasant surprise: roomy, fairly modern, with comfortable, good-sized beds. The bathroom is spacious too, with a large basin, a toilet tucked around the wall, and a big shower with both a rain head and handheld spray. Soap, shower gel and shampoo were provided, along with towels. We had to look in the wardrobe to find the hand towels. There’s a restaurant and terrace by the entrance, a car park on the grounds, and the hotel looks quite clean as you approach. The grounds are lovely, with lots of trees and greenery. A polite young man at reception answered our questions about the area. The cleanliness in the bathroom was a real letdown. The bin still had the previous guest’s rubbish in it, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. I reported it to reception, and a polite young woman apologized and arranged for someone to come empty it. They arrived within 10 minutes, so that was great service. But when I looked more closely at the shower later, it was filthy (see attached photos). It was clear the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned after the other guest left. The two stars for service are only about the cleaning, not reception or restaurant service. No matter how nice the rest of the room is, having to shower in a dirty bathroom is just nasty. We were on the second floor. Checked in today.
