The staff were polite, but I found the €200-a-night rate too high for what was on offer. The breakfast was basic, the facilities limited, and the hotel’s age showed throughout.

The restaurant was a highlight, especially the carpaccio and zalm, though nearly every dish was good. The staff were kind and attentive too. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely view of the dunes. It’s peaceful among the farmland, great for relaxing, and still close to the beach. One day the cleaners came in while I was still in the room. I was nearly leaving anyway, so it was just a small detail.
The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the price was reasonable even though we hadn’t booked and it was high season. On arrival, we were soaking wet from cycling in the rain, and the reception staff were incredibly friendly and understanding. The hotel was almost fully booked, but they did their best to fit us in. Our room was bright and spacious. The building seems focused on being practical rather than fancy, which suits us just fine. Another great Fletcher hotel!
The staff were fantastic, but the room was hot, and the ceiling in the suite looked like the one in my office. With the windows open it was bearable, though there’s a lot of road noise at night, including horses running up and down the road. The hotel can’t control that. This is a three-star place, so there’s no air conditioning, room service, or tea and coffee in the rooms.
The rooms are in need of renovation. We found some dirt and spiders, and it wasn’t worth the money.
