I felt ripped off by the end of the visit. The view is pleasant, though you can enjoy it just as well from the benches outside. We paid €16 for food that was mediocre at best, including a nearly €10 plate of loaded fries that was dry and had barely any sauce. Then the drinks came to €14: a 33cl Skuumkoppe cost €6.50, while 50cl is €7, and we were charged for a pricier chardonnay than the one we thought we ordered. We were there on May 20. The food itself was only mediocre.
The food was average, the wait was long, and the prices were awful. I'd avoid it unless there's nowhere else to go.
You can watch planes and parachutists taking off and landing from this fun, informal bar and restaurant by the airport. Parking is easy, the food is good, and there are some nice vegetarian choices. Just to be clear, this isn't a hotel.
There's a nice view of the airfield from the outdoor terrace, which makes this a good spot for lunch, a snack, or coffee. The aviation and war history museum next door is worth a visit too.
The service here was the worst I've ever experienced, and the place was so dirty that I was shocked. There was grime in the room corners and on the toilet and bath, with hair in the tub, plus dirty spoons and cups. The room did have plenty of space, but that didn't make up for it. We asked for a baby bed, which cost extra and came without linens, something that had never happened to us before. The steam tub and bubble jacuzzi made a terrible noise all night while apparently cleaning themselves, as the room rules described it. I kept waking up, and shutting the doors didn't help. No assistance, no smiles, no service. Breakfast was eggs, reheated bread from the day before, jams and spreads, packaged juice, and bad coffee. Only the tea was good. There wasn't even a plate for our baby, or any attention paid to her, as if she wasn't there. I really don't understand the good reviews. I paid €50 instead of €150 for the night and still feel it wasn't worth it. Don't waste your money.
