We stayed in the smaller cabin, the “Pavilion”, as a group of five, three adults and two kids. Even though it sits by a busier road, we didn’t hear anything. The staff were really friendly, and when the boat meant we couldn’t make check-in in time, they called to let us know the key was in the vault outside reception. The location is handy, with everything about a 10-minute drive away. There’s a morning bakery service, but you need to order the bread online, as well as bike rental. We were usually out doing things beyond the park. If you plan to stay there with kids, there isn’t much entertainment: just a small playground and a big trampoline.
The Wi-Fi was the disappointing part. It was too slow for streaming to the TV, and even videos or browsing dragged, so after a couple of days I switched to mobile data. Otherwise, we had a good week with our two kids, aged 2 and 4. The modern chalet was clean and had all the kitchen basics. The beds were a little too soft for me, but still okay. The park is centrally placed, so everywhere on Texel is within about a 10-minute drive. It's right beside a busy road, though we had no trouble with noise. The kids loved the small slide and big jumping pad. There’s also a little game room with a LEGO table, board games and puzzles, which was nice to spend an hour in now and then.
Just perfect!
The calm atmosphere made this park a great place to relax, and we had a very positive stay. We’d happily return, perhaps in a season with entertainment. There wasn’t an entertainment team during our visit, but our children enjoyed drawing and playing in the small kids’ area. We’d read that there’s entertainment in summer and fall. The park is different from others we know. At other Europarcs parks without a pool, guests sometimes get a free pass to a nearby one, and that would be a nice addition here. The grounds were beautifully cared for, and it was easily the cleanest park we’ve visited. The cottages were modern, attractive and comfortable. The location made family outings easy, with attractions, supermarkets and shops close by. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and professional, and we especially appreciated being allowed to check in early with our two children.
The villa section has just 20 cottages, so it’s a good choice if you want peace and quiet. Our cottage, number 222, had comfortable beds, a great kitchen, a pleasant living room and a dining area. Downstairs there was a bedroom with a shower and toilet, plus another separate toilet. Upstairs were a bedroom, an enormous master bedroom, and a bathroom with a tub, shower and sauna. Outside, the cottage also had a hot tub with a heat pump. Everything was new and modern, and the park and cottage were both great. Highly recommended.
