Hotel Het Gouden Boltje

Texel is a beautiful island and a well-kept Dutch secret. I visited a while ago and would happily return soon. This charming bed and breakfast is in a prime spot near the high street, beach and nearby seal sanctuary. The rooms are clean with ensuite bathrooms, the staff are polite, friendly and attentive, and they serve a nice continental breakfast.

The breakfast room is a nice, open space, and the meal there was a pleasant experience. Our room was clean and comfortable, with great beds. A lovely young couple welcomed us from the start, and we'll definitely come again. Thanks, Mat and Juud.

For a visit to Texel, this is an ideal place to stay. It's a lovely small place where personal attention and service really matter. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was enjoyable with just the right products.

After we arrived, they told us they had forgotten the reservation my boyfriend and I had made by email. They showed us a room with a not very friendly attitude, but it was only available for one night. We would then have to move to another room with a very small bed. My boyfriend is 1.90, and when we said the rooms seemed quite small, the guy at the hotel suggested he sleep diagonally. We went downstairs to decide what to do and spoke with another woman at reception, who was also very direct and unfriendly. They never apologized for their mistake, and the poor treatment led us to go somewhere else.
