Hotel Brasserie Den Burg

We had a really enjoyable long weekend staying in Den Burg on Texel. After a day at the beach and dunes, the spacious room and lovely shower pressure were much appreciated. Breakfast was delicious, and we walked around town while a local carnival was going on.

We came as a family and rented a two-room “family suite,” but there was no comfort at all. The bathroom had fungus, the curtains were torn, the floors were dirty and greasy, and there was no ventilation or air conditioning. Mosquitoes filled the rooms, and it felt like there was nothing to breathe. You could hear people in the other suites talking, walking, and using the toilet, and the hotel is beside a very noisy road. I couldn't sleep all night. We've traveled through very poor countries and never stayed in a place like this. I'm ready to leave in the middle of the night. I'll never come back; this place isn't worth another second of my life.

We chose this hotel for our first weekend on Texel and were very happy with the balcony room. It was spacious enough, had everything we needed, and the housekeeper checked every day whether we needed anything. The service was great and breakfast was delicious. Thanks to all the staff for taking such good care of us. We felt at home and hope to return soon.

The covered area for charging an e-bike was handy, and the staff were very kind. I only stayed one night, but had a very good time. The breakfast buffet was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Recommended.
