Hotel Dordrecht

It’s clean enough, and the rooms are adequate, but they aren’t comfortable. The pillows offer no support, and the place feels very spartan. Service is hard to read, neither friendly nor unfriendly. Breakfast is basic: eggs are the only choice, while everything else is brought to the table without options. I didn’t particularly like the hotel. It’s fine for a night or two, but my three-night stay was pushing it.

The staff member was very helpful. There’s a bar, though the person at reception also works as the bartender, and there isn’t a restaurant. Breakfast was fair. The building is old but clean, and I was lucky to get a lower-level room so I didn’t have to carry my bag upstairs. The room’s freestanding AC worked just fine.

The staff were nice and helpful, and breakfast was a good buffet with plenty of options. I stayed for two nights, 11-13 February 2025. Built in 1861, the hotel still shows its 160-plus years of history when you walk in, though it’s been well maintained. My twin room was behind the main building, across the compound. The main issue was the heat and lack of ventilation at night. I had to leave the room for a while to get some air. I couldn’t tell whether the window latches weren’t working or I simply didn’t know how to open them. The hotel is in Dordrecht, directly across from the river between Dordrecht and Zwijndrecht.

The peaceful atmosphere made the stay really pleasant, and the reception staff were especially friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable too. I had a great time at Hotel Dordrecht and would gladly come back. Definitely recommend it.
