Europarcs De Woudhoeve

We had a clean, spacious comfort house for six, very well equipped by Dutch standards, with a nice garden and good privacy. The staff were terrific, especially Maaike and Mendi, who were friendly and helpful and made us feel well looked after. Thanks to both of them. We did have to check the house for small insects every night, even though the doors were mostly kept shut. I'd recommend the park arrange pest control. I'd still happily recommend it to family and friends, especially in summer. There's one AC unit in the living area.

The nearby countryside, with its tulip fields, and the beach were amazing, which was a bit of luck given the problems with our accommodation. When we arrived late in the evening, there was no heating or hot water. Someone was sent later and fixed it. The beds hadn't been cleaned either. We found breadcrumbs and what was probably animal hair in them.

The park is a peaceful place with attractive houses and green space, and the houses have what you need. Ours was clean except for one bedsheet. Prices seemed reasonable, but there was an extra tourist tax and separate charges for towels and sheets. We didn't receive any towels despite the fee, which was very expensive at €7 per person per day. We didn't try the pool or the other facilities.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was modern, very clean and well equipped. The park is nicely placed for the sea, the dune nature reserve, Alkmaar and the tulip fields.
