B&B de Zandtaart

The owners put their whole heart into this B&B, and you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The beds are great, the rooms are clean and cozy, and breakfast is generous and delicious. It's served in a homey room with an old record player that brings back the fifties and sixties. It's a great spot near one of the finest beaches north of overcrowded Zandvoort. The beach is about a 15-minute walk along a nice street lined with shops, restaurants, and bars. That distance also means a peaceful stay and a good night's sleep. First-floor rooms cost less, though their toilet and shower are shared. Warm welcome, lovely place to stay!

My family can't stop talking about this place. It may be the best place we've ever stayed. The B&B is right across from the bus stop, and Alkmaar is only a short drive away, where you can get to the train station. It's also on the town's main street, so restaurants are easy to reach. There are lots of choices, and I recommend the seafood spot. And the food was incredible. They treated us like royalty, with baskets of bread, meats, cheese, vegetables, fresh fruit, an egg dish, and something sweet. There were plenty of extras too, like butter, cheese, liverwurst, Nutella, honey, jams, and, of course, sprinkles. We took the leftovers with us for lunch. The hosts were some of the kindest, friendliest people you'll meet. They went above and beyond what the job requires.

We had a great weekend, enjoying the hot tub and the lovely couple Koos and Margriet, who looked after us so well. They even made us a special breakfast on Sunday.
