The final impression was lifted mainly by how helpful everyone was. The people were lovely and accommodating, and offered plenty of help with our luggage. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nice, in a lovely quiet area. The bathroom was tiny and basic, and shower water easily spread across the rest of the floor. Access was up very steep outdoor stairs, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with balance or mobility issues. They also don’t take card payments, so I had to make sure I had cash. The fridge had various items available at an extra charge per item, as expected.

It’s close enough to walk to a supermarket, and parking was easy. There’s Wi-Fi, and breakfast was a nice traditional Dutch spread. The host was friendly and chatty. The compact flat was comfortable, though getting in meant climbing a steep iron staircase. The bathroom was very small, with my knees touching the wall when I sat on the loo.

We had a wonderful one-night stay in a beautiful, quiet area. Our hostess welcomed us warmly, and we enjoyed chatting with her over breakfast. There was a good range of meats, breads, cheeses, tea, and coffee, and the Wi-Fi worked very well. The main room and bathroom were both spacious. The room has a private entrance reached by a very steep staircase. It was manageable for us, since we’re all in fair shape, but it would be hard for someone who struggles with stairs. The first step is especially high because the staircase starts at the garden floor’s rock bed. The room felt cold. It has radiator heating, but we couldn’t seem to control it with the valve, so I contacted our hostess. Within two minutes she adjusted something outside the room, and the radiator became warm, though not hot. She also lent us a space heater but asked us not to run it overnight, which I understand because those heaters can cause fires. When I woke up, I was cold, and the alarm clock showed 64.5 degrees Fahrenheit/18.05 Celsius. It was 29F/-1.6C outside. We used the heater to warm the bathroom, but it couldn’t heat the whole area, so we had to move it where we needed it. At breakfast, a repairman arrived, and our hostess explained that something had failed in the front door latch, causing the door to come open overnight. That may explain why the room got so cold. I’m forgiving the cold room since one night isn’t enough for me to take off a star.

The room was spacious, tidy, and clean, with a big bath. After my long trip, the mini bar came in handy, and the items were cheap, though not free. Breakfast arrived on a huge tray with lots to choose from, including charcuterie, bread, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea.
