Hotel La Reine

The location is perfect, and the front desk staff were really nice and welcoming. The service was good. But the state of the rooms overshadowed all of that. The carpet, walls, and doors were stained or scratched, and the place felt old and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t stay here for a few days if I wanted somewhere comfortable, clean, or updated. The rooms need renovating.

This is more about the hotel itself than the staff. The receptionists are helpful and nice, and the location is very good, close to the central train station, shops, and restaurants. There’s no comfortable place to sit and relax in the lobby because it’s so small and cramped. Reception is only open from 13:00 to 22:00. The rooms have just the basics, like a bed and shower, without a phone, cups, glasses, or other handy things. Staying more than one night is uncomfortable unless you bring everything you need. Clean sheets and toilets, but if cleanliness matters to you, you might want to look elsewhere. The furniture is very old, and the mattresses had pee stains and other marks. I booked because the room photos looked really good, but the actual room was disappointing.

The room looked modern, but it was freezing, filthy, and uncomfortable. The temperature control didn’t work, and the ventilation blew all night. There was hair and dirt on the beds, and the mattresses had stains that looked like some kind of bodily fluid. My friend who shared the room has bites that look like bedbug bites. The good reviews here must be fake. This place is crazy, find somewhere else.

The receptionist was very friendly, and that was the only good part. The room was dark, dingy, and smelled strongly of mold, so we couldn’t stay and found another hotel in the city center. I wouldn’t recommend this place. If you can call it a hotel, it felt more like a doss house.
