We stayed overnight, with dinner and breakfast included in our room deal, which was good value. The terrace was lovely for sitting in the sun with snacks and drinks, including mocktails and cocktails. We also made use of the swimming pool, which rounded off a wonderful stay. The hotel is within walking or cycling distance of the Veluwe. You can rent electric bikes there, though we brought our own and found that easy and convenient.

The nature around the hotel was our favourite part. We had a very pleasant stay, and the room was clean and spacious enough for our family with two kids. There’s a small pool and a sauna, breakfast has quite a bit of variety, and the hotel provided a crib for free.

For €45 for the night, I thought it was a five-star experience for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, the parking was good, and the surroundings were lovely. At €100 a night, I might have been disappointed by the cracked leatherette on the room armchair, the flickering bathroom light, and the dry, rubbery scrambled eggs at breakfast.

The customer service was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant had a nice view of nature. But the three-course meal wasn’t anything special, and the food arrived with delays of 30 minutes. From outside, the hotel looks very nice, and it’s in a lovely area with plenty of parking and nature. The reception was set up in the hallway, which didn’t feel very private or professional. My room was OK, with a balcony facing the main entrance, but the room itself fell short of what I expected from a four-star hotel. The floor looked dark and old, and there were paper cups for the coffee machine, a tiny kettle, and no bottled water. The bed was fairly comfortable but damaged. The walls were scratched, and the sockets came away from the wall when plugging in or unplugging a cable, which felt quite dangerous. The bathroom was old, and there was no hairdryer or soap.
