B&B De Buren

We were welcomed warmly, and getting the keys was well organized. There’s a reserved parking spot right outside. The B&B sits in lovely Gasselte, and the rooms have a nice mix of clean, modern lines and a warm, rustic feel. Everything was fresh and well kept, including the shower and toilet. Breakfast came in a lovely basket and was excellent. Highly recommended.

A good B&B. The breakfast was good, and there’s a shared room to eat it in. My room was nice, with a good bed and its own shower and toilet.

The bathroom was clean and breakfast was okay, but sleeping here was a real problem. The rooms let in so much sound that I could hear neighbors whispering, and passing cars felt like they were right inside. The owner also holds weddings here, with music going until 1 a.m. When I called at 11 p.m. to ask for it to be turned down, I was told there was a party and it would carry on that long. If you want a quiet night, this place won’t suit you. The staff’s English could be better. Also, the cleaning staff left the room unlocked, so other guests could enter. Don’t leave valuables behind if you no longer need them.

The rooms get noisy when there are several guests, even though the area itself is very quiet. Room 2 was a little small but tidy, and we slept well despite the soft bed. The TV wouldn’t connect, but we enjoyed sitting on the terrace outside our room. The bathroom looked fine, though the cover plate around the light switch was missing. The shared kitchen is compact but has everything you need. Breakfast came in a wicker basket, was nicely prepared, and gave us more than enough to start the day. Good value for money.
