Bie Oans Oefje

Greetje was a fantastic hostess, and we had a wonderful time. Breakfast was delicious, and the property was perfect for our 5-year-old daughter since she could keep herself busy there. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the bedrooms had plenty of space. There weren't many places for a walk right around the property, and we didn't see any restaurants or supermarkets within walking distance. We'd love to come back in summer!

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the hosts, complete with a slice of Greet's famous homemade apple pie. In oans Oefe in Lewedorp is a lovely choice if you want peace and quiet, set among the wide open fields of Zeeland. The apartment was cozy, spotless, and extremely well equipped, with everything from a microwave and air fryer to a pod coffee machine. Kids have lots to do, with games indoors and plenty of ride-on toys and room to run around outside. The animals were the highlight for us: Rosi the pig, the chickens, and the adorable sheep. Our children were allowed to help feed them, which was unforgettable. We felt completely at ease and will definitely return. A perfect place to relax and recharge.

The children had a lovely time collecting eggs with the farmer in the henhouse and feeding the chickens and pigs. There’s also a quiet paved dike nearby that’s great for cycling. The chalet sits on a small farm surrounded by fields, so it’s wonderfully peaceful, with a terrace looking out over a potato field, Niewdorp, and an industrial port. Shopping is easy, just a 10-minute drive to Heinkenszand, and towns across Walcheren are no more than 35 minutes away by car. We found everything we needed in the chalet, and it was all in good working order. It’s charmingly furnished. The weather was rainy and as cool as 17°C in early August, so the owners lit the wood-burning stove and kept the place warm. They greeted us with homemade apple pie and were very friendly and responsive to requests. Towels were provided and changed during the week, and they even planned to change the bed linens after five days. That kind of service was more than we expected in a chalet. You can tell they’ve hosted all sorts of guests for years. Parking right outside was especially helpful in all that rain.

We’re from Groningen and heard about this lovely spot from a real Zeelander. Greet was such a thoughtful hostess, even offering us a lift to the venue where we were celebrating a birthday. And the apple pie was a treat. We’ll definitely come back!
