De Heeren Hoeve

We had a really comfortable week as a couple in the "Himmel" apartment. There was plenty of room for our bicycles in the large barn, and the apartment itself had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable. It was tastefully furnished, so we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The farm is conveniently close to Zierikzee, but still quiet and away from the tourist crowds. The hosts welcomed us warmly, were very friendly and helpful, and were always there if we had questions. Thanks so much for your hospitality!

We've been coming here for years, and the quality has stayed excellent even after the change of ownership. The old stables have been beautifully converted into lovely places to stay. It's clean, has a great atmosphere, and feels ideal for relaxing. The sea is only a few minutes away by car. The hosts are very friendly. Probably not the best fit for children, but a dream if you want peace and quiet.

There is a lot of traffic noise from the busy main road nearby. Calling this a nature house feels misleading. I saw two reviews talking about wonderful tranquility, and I can't imagine where they stayed, unless they had trouble hearing. This place definitely isn't peaceful, which is why I'm leaving this review.

We only got to stay for a short time, which was a shame. Marlene and Hans are such warm, lovely people, and you can see that care in the farm, the houses, and all the furnishings. Everything is decorated with real taste and affection. The three dogs were incredibly sweet and great with children, and the peacocks, cats, chickens, and sheep all add to the charm. We'll definitely come back!
