Great hosts and a great place. Definitely deserves a thumbs up!

Very good, and I’m very happy.

There’s a small garden cottage as well as the rooms, with space for up to four people. Even though the road nearby is fairly busy, we couldn’t hear traffic inside. Breakfast from the B&B was available for €7.50 per person, but we cooked for ourselves using the large fridge and freezer. Haaksbergen’s center is only a short walk or bike ride away, with a shopping street, department stores like Jumbo, Albert Heijn and Hema, and several excellent bakeries. There’s plenty of parking beside the B&B. The cottage is compact, but that gives it a cozy feel, and it has almost everything you need. The one thing missing is an extractor hood over the stove. The rest was clean, though the fridge, freezer and a few drawers hadn’t been cleaned properly when we arrived, so we put them in the dishwasher. The owner was friendly and quick to answer questions or sort out small issues. The property is for sale because the owners plan to do something else, but the potential buyer also intends to run it as a B&B.

The hosts’ warmth is the best part, and they also sell some nice souvenirs. Breakfast was okay. The rooms are small, with low ceilings, and it’s a noisy, old-fashioned setup. You share the toilet with other rooms, and the shower is on a different floor. If you’re after somewhere high-class, this probably won’t suit you.
