The location worked well for driving to lots of sights, and we really enjoyed our midweek stay at 'de Til'. Betty was a lovely host, and communication was very clear. The little kitchen was good for making a meal, and all the appliances had instructions. Everything felt carefully prepared, right down to the soap, shampoo, and even a small bag of sanitary products in the toilet. One small downside was the blackout: I’m a light sleeper, so I wish I’d remembered to pack my sleep mask.

We had everything we needed in the studio, and Sjaak and Betty were warm and welcoming. We booked it through AirBnB for the Airborne commemorations, but it would also make a good base at other times. There’s parking right outside and a bus stop just around the corner.

The room had quite a lot in it and was pretty good, and the area was quiet. The woman who greeted us was very kind. The main issue was the dampness and moldy smell. We needed some heat, but the only thing available was a very small radiator.

It felt like coming home in this comfortable studio. They’ve thought of all the little details for guests, and the welcome was incredibly hospitable.

Otherwise it was okay, but the shower pressure was a shame, the head was too small and the spray too strong. The fridge rattled beside the bed all night, too.
