6/10
Getting back late from a concert in Maastricht, I had a really hard time finding a parking spot for my car. The bathroom was small and the mattress much too soft. Still, check-in was quick and easy, the first-floor room was spacious, and the free Wi-Fi worked perfectly. I’d book here again despite those minor issues.

You can play snooker for free, which is nice, but breakfast costs 18 euros and feels overpriced. The doors also make a lot of noise when they close, so you hear people going in and out of their rooms.

The lack of upkeep was obvious, and the hotel looked much better in the pictures than it did in person. At breakfast, flies were crawling over the food and drinks, which was especially worrying with a baby who could get sick. There’s no elevator, and there was no baby blanket or suitable pillow. It didn’t feel baby friendly.

The staff were extremely friendly, and the beds were really comfortable. It’s a small, quiet hotel, far enough from both the city center and the highway. It’s not the fanciest or most romantic place, but I liked the calm setting.

The staff are really friendly and clearly try their best. The beds didn’t leave much of an impression, though. The kitchen staff need to learn what medium rare means: my steak was far beyond well done, so I sent it back and ordered something else. Such a shame to waste good food.
