Wapen van Hengelo Residence Suites

Self-serviced apartments.

Fantastic.

The room was nice, especially the bed, and I was told over the phone about the parking at the back by someone very friendly. Still, finding and using either car park was a hassle. Google Maps took me to the lot by the restaurant, where the barrier opened on its own, but leaving required a free token from inside the restaurant, and there weren't clear signs. The other lot is behind the building by the rooms, but it's hidden and awkward to reach, requiring a detour around a corner and through a residential area. I was lucky to find it, and the code I needed hadn't arrived by email. The hotel isn't very large, yet the signs are poor. The curtains were only half hanging down, and I didn't like the forest-green walls and ceiling or how little light there was. It looks great in daylight, but once it gets dark, you can hardly see in the room. The keyless setup with no reception staff is a good idea, though it's not running smoothly just yet. There are a few small issues, but I'd come back.

Getting in by phone through the app was easy. The front door, the right-hand side door, and my room door were all accessible. It's close to the train station, and there was plenty of private parking. No complaints, everything was perfect. I'd definitely stay again.
