Roompot Vakantiepark Boomhiemke

We love Ameland and feel very comfortable at Roompot Boomhiemke. We know Roompot from other locations, even in Germany, and enjoyed the bowling and basketball playground here. One thing disappointed us: the restaurant team didn't look after the outdoor area, where guests could sit in the sun on lounge chairs. There were empty glasses on every table, and seagulls had started picking up leftover bites and knocking glasses off the tables. The lounge chairs weren't very clean either. We sat at the regular tables with drinks for about 20-30 minutes, but nobody came over. I don't want to blame anyone, but please take care of that area too, so guests can feel welcome there. To end on a positive note, all the Roompot locations we've been to, including this one, are very well organized and service-oriented. Thanks.

We had the house for 12 days and liked the setup a lot. It had a small garden, parking right outside, and ours was at the end, so there was plenty of privacy. Getting in with a code was easy, and the house had what we needed to cook and relax, including a dishwasher, oven, kettle, filter coffee maker, Senseo, TV, internet, and comfortable beds. A few things to bring: dish soap, toilet paper, kitchen roll, salt, pepper, and other small essentials. There were lots of spiders and mosquitoes, too. The pillows were really uncomfortable, so bring your own if you can. Cleaning was only very basic; I used wipes to clean before we showered and ate. The place could use a proper fresh clean between guests. We’d come back, but the cleanliness is why I’m giving four stars.

There are plenty of things for the children to do, and the restaurant serves decent food at reasonable prices. The chalets themselves are modern and very nice.

The park is in a good central spot, and the accommodation was fine. The interiors of the houses do feel a little dated.
